Alcohol Abuse at Tournaments - 11 November 2009 at 00:00

Attention All Polocrosse Players

At the recent PASA Executive meeting, an official Police letter was received regarding the abuse of alcohol by under age children at Polocrosse Tournaments.

Concerns regarding this subject were also received from various Polocrosse parents.

In light of the severity of this letter, the Executive have decided to implement the following ruling at ALL polocrosse tournaments:

1.)   There will be NO alcohol served to children under the age of 18 years in any pub at a tournament.

2.)   The pubs will close at 12 O’clock, midnight – no alcohol will be served after midnight.

3.)   If an under age child is caught drinking, the parents will be brought in front of the Disciplinary Committee.

4.)   All tournament invites are to state clearly “No under age drinking will be permitted”

This is an extremely serious offence which needs the co-operation of the entire polocrosse community.

We strive to be an prestigious sport, and would like to be viewed by every body attending Polocrosse tournaments as such.
