SA Dev tour to Bulawayo, Zim – 2019

Zimbabwe invited a South African junior development team to play against their up and coming  juniors, the aim of this tour was to help grow polocrosse in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Thank you to Squacky Whaley for all his organising and enthusiasm,  We look forward to hosting Zimbabwe next year!

Our South African Junior Development side  was selected from up and coming players from clubs all over South Africa –

T R Visser – Unicorns, L J Van Der Nest – Huhudi, Shana Beukes- Walkerville, Sydney Du Toit- Walkerville, Megan Thomson – Kargs Post, Emmy Lou De Jong – Walkerville Caleb De Jong- Walkerville , Senna Viljoen- Kentucky and Morgan Du Toit -Walkerville

These players were coached by Emma Hall

Our players and their families were treated with true Zimbabwean hospitality. The South African teams did very well and were the winners, however  the focus of  this tour was not about winners and runners it , it was about building polocrosse.  The tour was such a success and great friendships were formed, so much so, that  9 Zimbabwean players rather impulsively decided to travel to South Africa the very next week to play in the Walkerville Tournament. Well done to all those players and families for promoting polocrosse.
